AMC 10 / AMC 12: dates, deadlines and fees 2026–27

AMC 10 / AMC 12 · Mathematical Association of America (MAA)

75-minute MAA math competitions given at schools in November: the AMC 10 for students in grade 10 and below and the AMC 12 for grade 12 and below. Each has an A date and a B date; a student may take one A and one B exam, but not the AMC 10 and AMC 12 on the same day. High scores qualify for the AIME.

Who takes it

AMC 10: grade 10 or below and 17.5 or younger on the competition day. AMC 12: grade 12 or below and 19.5 or younger. Students must be enrolled full time at a school in the U.S. or Canada (international and exchange students included).

Fee

Paid by the school: competition-manager registration $55 early / $75 regular / $115 late, plus $30 per bundle of 10 student licenses (a student taking both A and B uses two). Schools may charge students their own fee.

Outside the U.S.

Outside the U.S. and Canada, students take part through the MAA International Group Leader for their country; dates and fees abroad are set by those partners.

• Scores are finalized in mid-December 2026, when AIME invitations go out.
• AIME qualification: 100 or more on the AMC 10, or 85 or more on the AMC 12 (A or B).
